Open Archive Platform and Rigorous Evaluation System for Open Science (RESOS)

An open science initiative has just been proposed in a white paper titled “A Robust Community-Based Credit System to Enhance Peer Review in Scientific Research“. A short version of the paper was also submitted for an essay contest held at FQxI.org.

As we have learned through the painful experiences of thousands of years of our civilized history, innovation is best nurtured in an ideally open, diverse, democratic, tolerant, and motivating environment. How do we create and sustain such an environment? One possible solution is presented in the white paper: a new open science initiative to build an Open Archive Platform equipped with a Rigorous Evaluation System for Open Science (RESOS).

By implementing a sophisticated credit/role incentive mechanism, the initiative strives to establish a new self-sustaining ecosystem for all scientists and researchers in the entire scientific community. The belief is that rigorous science requires rigorous evaluation. Scientific innovation won’t be evolving efficiently until such a system is built.
